Sigal Prishtina defeated Peja in the fourth final game of the Kosovo Superleague playoffs. The game that took place on Tuesday night, before 2000 spectators, at the Youth and Sports Center in Prishtina has ended with the result 80:55. No one expected such a big difference in a final game where the champion for 2015/16 could have been decided. However, the reigning champion of Kosovo didn’t allow this to happen, so the dilemma will be resolved in the weekend at the “Karagaci” hall, in Peja.

Peja started better but Prishtina rapidly responded and after five minutes of the game things began to balance on the floor and the first quarter ended in Prishtina’s favor 19:16. They continued with the same tempo in the second quarter and the first half ended 39:29. Prishtina was superior also in the third quarter and didn’t allow the guests to score more than 8 points, while they scored 22. Everything ended then and the fourth quarter was only for a show.

Edmond Azemi, Captain of BC Sigal Prishtina:  “We wanted to show a better game than the first 3 games and thanks to our defense game we managed to win. We didn’t allow Peja to play their game and that threw them off. I am very happy that we won and that we played better in front of our fans. We will travel to Peja motivated to win and we’ll return to celebrate together in Prishtina. We deserve this trophy, because we were the best team throughout the season. However, Peja is a very strong team and the fact that we won by 25 points is irrelevant, so we have to be fully prepared because in this game there is no space for mistakes.”

Drilon Hajrizi, basketball player from BC Peja: “Prishtina played better. However, we shouldn’t be disappointed, but we have to get maximally prepared to win in the weekend, in “Karagaci” hall before our fans. It won’t be easy and the fourth game shouldn’t be repeated.”

Sigal Prishtina’s top scorers were Dardan Berisha with 24 points, Stanimir Marinov with 14, Andrew Warren with 12 and Edmond Azemi qith 10. For Peja, the most efficient players were Fisnik Rugova and Nenad Delic with 12 points each. Also, Mohamed Abukar played in this game and added 6 points.
