President of Kosovo Basketball Federation, Erolld Belegu and board member, Arben Fetahu will attend FIBA Europe General Assembly, to be held on 16-17 May, in Malta.
KBF’s membership in FIBA Europe will be formalized at FIBA Europe General Assembly and afterwards Kosovo will be listed as a member of FIBA Europe.
One of the key points to be discussed in Malta is the competition system in European Competitions at club levels.
FIBA Europe has sent eight proposals concerning the competition system of Euro Cup and Euro League. Most of these proposals favor national champions, who have the opportunity to play at Euro Cup and Euro League qualifications, in Kosovo’s case it is almost certain that the champion of Kosovo will play for these competitions qualifications, and there are proposals that allow this team a rapid qualification in Euro Cup.
It must be emphasized that another important date for the participation of Kosovo clubs in international competitions for next season, is May 28th, when the Board of Balkan League will hold its meeting, in Prishtina. Competition system for season 2015/16 will be discussed and set at this meeting.
