Following the appointment of selectors and their assistants of the U18 National Teams (in both competitions) and U20, the Board of the Kosovo Basketball Federation (KBF) has now appointed the selectors and their assistants for the U16 National Team (male/female).
Ibrahim Karabeg was named selector for the U16 NT (men) and his assistant will be Lorik Kllokoqi (former basketball player at BC Prishtina, currently coach of youth team Prishtina e Re).
The selector of U16 NT (women) is Muhammed Thaqi and his assistant is Kimete Haliti.
Muhammad Thaqi is already a known name for the Kosovo basketball, because after the war he played basketball in few Kosovo teams, with which he won numerous trophies.
Thaqi is currently working as a coach in Israel, in BC Hapoel Holon, U16 and U18. With both generations he managed to secure a place in the "playoffs".
Kosovo U16 (men) will participate in the European Championship, Division B in Sofia, Bulgaria, from 10 until 19 August, in Group D with Georgia, Great Britain, Luxemburg, Macedonia and Bulgaria.
Kosovo U16 (women) will participate in the European Championship, Division C, from 25 until 30 July in Gibraltar. Kosovo is participating in Group A with Georgia and Malta.
