The board of Kosovo Basketball Federation after being informed in details on the latest event that has occurred in the third final game between Sigal Prishtina and Peja, which was terminated, and how the season ended for the ETC Super League, unanimously supports the decisions of the Competition Commissioner and the Disciplinary Commission. We believe that the actions of a few members of BC Peja directly influenced the outcome of the final series and had a negative impact on the image of the final series, which is the biggest event of the season.
Being aware about the great interest of sponsors, national and international partners, media and the public opinion, we would once again like to emphasize that the regularity of our behavior and the administration of the competition should be the biggest priority. The decisions are severe but in accordance with our normative acts. It is an undeniable and a very sad fact that these decisions will lead to a momentarily decline of the popularity and quality of basketball in Kosovo.
However, we are also convinced that we are sending a clear message to everyone that an irresponsible behavior and the disregard of the rules are not allowed and I believe that such behaviors won’t happen in the future. Board of KBF is optimist that it will overcome this challenge, with the support of the institutions and partners with which KBF has direct relations and will continue to commit to increasing basketball in Kosovo in every level, always obeying the rules and implementing our normative acts.
