Friendly games between the U16 National Team of Kosovo and the U16 National Team of Bulgaria in both competitions took place on Friday, and Kosovo lost in both games.
The girls were defeated 101:33. For our girls, this was their first game of an international level, whereas the Bulgarian girls are part of Division B in the European Championship of this group age and this shows the difference in quality between the two teams. This year, for the first time ever, Kosovo U16 (women) will compete in a European Championship, Division C, Group A amongst Wales and Malta.
However, in men’s competition, Kosovo U16 was defeated by Bulgaria 68:48. The basketball players of Kosovo showed a great commitment on the floor, but the Bulgarians were better and won the game. Kosovo U16 will compete in Division B, Group C, amongst Norway, Slovenia, Romania, Austria and Ukraine, while Bulgaria will compete in Division B, Group D with Slovakia, Georgia, Czech Republic, Island and Belgium. It should be noted that the second friendly games between Kosovo and Bulgaria will take place on Saturday. The first game will begin at 10:00h whereas the second one at 12:00h, at the Youth and Sports Center, in Prishtina.
