7 July 2015

Kosovo’s NT U16 won its second game in a row in the European Championship, Division C, Group B, which is taking place in San Marino.

This time, our cadets were better than their rivals from Monaco, who they defeated with the result 96:56 (18:13, 24:10, 27:11, 27:22).

This way, the players overcame yet another challenge, whereas on Tuesday they will play against Wells and in case of a victory our players will finish the group phase in first place and will further advance in the European Championship, in San Marino.

After the game, one of Kosovo’s NT U16 players Etnik Peci, said: “This game was even harder than the one against Gibraltar, and this is normal because every game will be harder than the previous one. We made some mistakes in the beginning of the game but slowly we were improved and managed to achieve everything that we talked about with the coach before the game. This victory motivates us to play even better against Wales. Our first two wins are very important to us and we want to win the first place in group and afterwards we will have to wait and see how the things go. It is important for us to take one game at a time, because that is the only way to achieve our main goal, and that is to go as further as we can in the European Championship”.

Top scorers in the game were Etnik Peci with 16 points, Atik Koshi with 13 points, Ylldrit Sahiti with 12 points, Engjell Ramaj with 12 points and Andi Vrapcani with 11 points.

The game between Wales and Kosovo will take place tomorrow, at 14:30hrs.

It should be emphasized that Kosovo’s NT U16 has received compliments for their game not only from their opponents but also from FIBA officials.
