Kosovo Basketball Federation in collaboration with the Kosovo Olympic Committee and the Coaches Association will organize an intensive course for coaches from 24 February until 3 March.
KBF thus becomes the first sports federation in Kosovo to win a grant from the Olympic Solidarity and in one of the most sensitive areas, that of raising the capacity of coaches.
The ten-day intensive course is supported by the Olympic Solidarity, the largest foundation within the framework of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), for the development of sports in different countries of the world.
Secretary General of KBF, Leart Hoxha stated: “It is a great pleasure to be the first federation in Kosovo to receive a grant from the Olympic Solidarity. We had big support from the Kosovo Olympic Committee and I believe that we will continue to receive grants from the Olympic Solidarity for other areas of basketball development in Kosovo. The course will enable our coaches for the first time ever to receive certificates from the International Olympic Committee signed by a FIBA expert.”
FIBA Instructor, Tone Krump will lecture at the course.
President of the Coaches Association, Arben Krasniqi, after expressing his gratitude for the opportunity given by the Kosovo Olympic Committee and the Kosovo Basketball Federation, gave a few details about the course: “30 coaches from Kosovo will attend the course. The list will be published in the upcoming days and the coaches that have their name in the list will attend the 10 day course. Discipline and absolute attendance are required since we will be monitored by the International Olympic Committee. The course will be basic and next year we hope to finally start the process of coaches licensing with professional criteria.”
It should be noted that during February, KBF in collaboration with FIBA Europe will organize another international clinic for FIBA Potential Referees.
