Peja defeated Sigal Prishtina in the third final of the Kosovo Superleague playoffs and now is leading 2:1. The game that took place on Sunday night, at the “Karagaci” hall has ended 66:63 (17:21, 21:12, 17:11, 11:19).
The fourth game of the big finals will take place on Tuesday night, at the Youth and Sports Center, in Prishtina, and in the event that Peja wins they will be announced champions of Kosovo for the season 2015/16, however, if Prishtina wins, the champion will be decided in the weekend, in Peja. Kosovo reigning champion is the team from the capital city.
Prishtina was leading in the first quarter and it looked like they would be the one to leave the “Karagaci” hall with a victory, but the hosts made sure that that wouldn’t happen. The first quarter ended in Prishtina’s favor 21:17. However, things changed in the second quarter and Peja were the ones leading and the first half ended 38:35. Peja played even better after the break and even though Prishtina was in disadvantage the whole time, they managed to reduce Peja’s lead and the winner was decided in the final seconds of the game. Peja is now one victory away from the champions’ title.
Peja’s top scorers were Kevin Burwell with 17 points, Drilon Hajrizi with 16 and Roland Davis 10. For Sigal Prishtina, the most efficient players were Stanimir Marinov with 19 points, Gerti Shima with 10 and Dardan Berisha with 9 points. It should be noted that Sigal Prishtina played once again without Mohamed Abukar.
