Peja won their first game of their debut season in FIBA Europe Cup.
On Wednesday night before their own fans, Peja defeated the team from Cyprus, Petrolina AEK 87:82 (17:19, 32:15, 21:24, 17:24), in Round 2 of Group G in FIBA Europe Cup.
Peja exploded in the second quarter, scoring 32 points while their opponent scored only 15 points. The team from Cyprus couldn’t reduce this disadvantage, but in the last quarter they managed to jeopardize Peja’s victory. However, Coach Aleksandar Todorov’s team refused to let their good game go to waste and Peja won a game in one of the strongest competitions in FIBA Europe.
Peja’s top scorers were Lamarcus A Reed with 23 points, Alban Veseli with 19 and Mirza Ahmetbasic with 16 points. For Petrolina AEK, Torey Thomas scored 19 points and Primor Brezec added 14.
In the next round of Group G in FIBA Europe Cup, Peja will play against Gaziantep. The game will take place in Gaziantep, Turkey, on November 2nd.
