The first meeting of the technical teams of the Basketball Federation of Kosovo and the Albanian Basketball Federation was held today through a video conference. The meeting was attended by the President of FBK, Arben Fetahu, and the President of FSHB, Avni Ponari.
The technical teams will be led by the General Secretaries of both federations until the whole process of preparing the documents will be completed by the second week of June when the agreement between the two Federations for the establishment of the joint league is expected to be signed.

The long-standing idea of establishing a joint basketball league between the Albanian and Kosovar Basketball Federations will be realized in the 2020-2021 season.
Cooperation and financing agreement of the National Basketball League will be signed between FSHB and KBF during June 2020, for 4 years period with the possibility of extension.
The League will aim to provide an internationally competitive environment for the teams of the participating countries, promotion of competitiveness between clubs, and providing international matches for domestic players.
Both federations will delegate their best-ranked teams from the previous season to participate in the League.
For the 2020-2021 edition, a round-robin competition system should be established with 14 regular rounds, in which each team with each plays at least two matches. The League will be supervised by the Board of Governors, in which all participating federations will delegate 2 representatives.
