Four potential coaches from Kosovo will stay in Istanbul, Turkey from 1 until 6 November 2016. The visit of the potential coaches from Kosovo, Izet Tahiri, Qendrim Demi, Besnik Podvorica and Genti Zeka is part of the FIBA Europe “Youth Development Fund” (YDF) project called "New Generation Development Project". The manager of this project Faton Kurshumlija, assigned by KBF will also travel with the coaches.
"New Generation Development Project" will last for two years (2016/17) and is led by the Turkish Basketball Federation, while their partners are Bulgaria, Romania, Kosovo and Macedonia.
During their six day stay in Istanbul, Kosovo coaches together with Bulgarians, Romanians and Macedonians will have the opportunity to visit the biggest clubs in Turkey, and also participate in their training sessions, in order to gain more knowledge on basketball. Also 16 coaches along with 4 managers appointed by the respective federations will be present at the basketball game of the Turkish Super League.
The study visit is organized by the Turkish Basketball Federation and they took care of every accommodation detail for 16 coaches and 4 managers.
It should be stressed that the "New Generation Development Project" began this summer with the selection camps organized in the four abovementioned countries (for boys born in 2002 and younger). The first joint International camp was organized afterwards and was attended by 120 children from Romania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Macedonia, and 6 coaches and 1 manager from each federation. The coaches study visit will take place now in Turkey, while the first international tournament will be held in mid-December, in Macedonia.
The purpose of this project is the international experience, cultural interaction, to build and strengthen relationships among partners.
