During the past few days, a group of people have appeared in Prizren who are trying through illegitimate actions to misinform the sport-loving opinion regarding the developments in Bashkimi basketball club.

Without wanting to speculate on their motives and interests, it should be concluded that completely illegally and without gaining any legitimacy, these people claim to have organized the Club Assembly and elected new management bodies. The President of Bashkimi Club, none of the members of the Board of BC Bashkimi, none of the officials of the municipality of Prizren or any representatives of Kosovo Basketball Federation did not attend this 'assembly', called by the persons who are not even members of the club (according to the statute) which have not been contributing to the functioning of the club for many years now, (some even never!), and who have no connection whatsoever with it being representatives of other sports clubs and basketball schools.

We, the legitimate representatives of Bashkimi basketball club want to inform the public that the work of the club is continuing in order and that there has been no change to its governing bodies. Moreover, we need to confirm the statements made by the Manager of the Club, Mr. Arlind Kaçaniku regarding the preparations for the next year, negotiations with some serious sponsors, as well as finalizing the agreement with the Municipality of Prizren for more substantial support for the club in all forms, including the financial one. Therefore, we want to inform the public opinion that BC Bashkimi is in intensive work in terms of preparation for the upcoming final season, and also for our expression of interest for possible involvement in the Balkan League, being highly committed in meeting the preconditions for participation in international competitions, if not in the next season than in 2015-2016 final season.

Furthermore, the Board of BC Bashkimi, as the only legitimate structure of the club registered with Kosovo Basketball Federation and the Municipal Directorate of Sports, and consisting of people who work ceaselessly to advance this organization, has foreseen the organization of the Assembly of the Club during 2014, for which will inform the public in advance.

Any other information that can be served from sources that are not close to the club constitutes malicious disinformation for the public in Prizren and Kosovo.
