An extra time of 5 minutes was needed in order for the winner to be defined in the game between Kosovo and Malta, in the European Championship, Division C, in women’s competition. In the end, Kosovo won 58:57 (12:8, 9:12, 15:11, 13:18, 9:8).
Malta was better in the beginning of the game, however the first quarter of the game ended 12:8 for Kosovo. In the second quarter, the game was even and the teams went to half time with the result 21:20, in Kosovo’s advantage. In the third quarter our players continued to dominate the game and the third quarter ended 15:11 in their favor. However, things changed in the fourth quarter and the game ended 49:49.
During the extra time, Malta started better and Kosovo could not score, however the roles change and the players of Coach Fidan Shatri took control of the game until the end.
With this victory, Kosovo secured a place in the semifinals of the European Championship U16, Division C and now is waiting for the winner of the Georgia and Andorra duel.
European Championship U16, Division C is taking place in Andorra, from 18 until 23 July.
The semifinals will take place on Friday.
