It has been 5 years since the Basketball Federation of Kosovo became a member of FIBA, breaking the barrier of isolation. The success in international arenas has not lacked in these years. Kosovo U18 (M) in 2018 marked a remarkable success, becoming champion of the FIBA U18 European Championship, held in Pristina by beating Cyprus with a 73:64 score. Kosovo became champion for the first time in FIBA ​​competitions but has also previously managed to grab the silver in the U16 European in 2015, as well as the bronze in the European U18 in 2016.
Historic success is considered as well listing of National Team A among the 32 teams in the World Cup Qualifications for 2017. Kosovo was in the group with Estonia and Macedonia, ranking second, behind Estonia and ahead of Macedonia.
