The main game of round XVI of the Kosovo Superleague will take place on Saturday, at 19:00h, at the “Sezai Surroi” hall, in Prizren, between Bashkimi and Peja. The games between the two teams have always awaken a great interest amongst basketball fans and it won’t be any different this time. Peja holds the first place with a total of 26 points and a record of 13 wins and 0 losses, whereas Bashkimi has a record of 9 wins and 4 losses.
Bashkimi was the only team to defeat Peja this season (82:73), in the first round of Group B, in the Sigal Uniqa Balkan League and that’s why this game is expected to be very interesting.
Griffin Rame will make his debut for Bashkimi and Nicholas Covington for Peja.
Petar Mijoviq, Head coach of BC Bashkimi: “I’m expecting a very difficult game. We are the only team to defeat Peja this season and this says a lot about their quality as well as ours. Both teams are in a great series of victories and this game is expected to be very interesting. Peja doesn’t have many weak points. If we manage to stop their three pointer shots, then we will have a chance to win.”
Branimir Paviq, Head Coach of BC Peja: “It is very important to our team to win this derby. This season, we played four times against Bashkimi and we only won one of the two games that took place in Prizren.”
In round XVI of the Kosovo Superleague, Sigal Prishtina defeated Trepca 87:48 on Friday night, while on Sunday at 14:00h, at the “1 Tetori” hall, Kerasan Prishtina will host Vellaznimi.
