On Tuesday, the president of Mitrovica Agim Bahtiri, met at a meeting the president of the Basketball Federation of Kosovo, Erolld Belegu, with whom he discussed the general situation of the Kosovar basketball, ways of cooperation between municipal authorities and the federation, but emphasis was put on the financial difficulties that men’s club Trepca is going through lately.

KBF’s President, Erolld Belegu, discussed about the work and the activities of KBF and also inquired about the timeliness of the completion of the works in the sports hall in Mitrovica.

"From the time that the renovation started in the sports hall in Mitrovica , KB Trepca and other clubs are obliged to play in other cities; therefore, Trepca needs support and financial assistance to overcome the difficulties that is facing" said Belegu.

Meanwhile, the president Bahtiri admitted of being familiar with the difficulties that the clubs are going through, especially KB Trepca. He promised to support the club on the basis of the budgetary prospects that Mitrovica has.

“We have recognized the difficulties that clubs in Mitrovica due to renovation of the gym are facing, but we hope that within a short period of time the renovation in the gym will be finished and the clubs can practice their games as before. What I can say is that, we are considering the financial possibilities of the municipality of Mitrovica in order to assist the clubs especially Trepca. We understand their problems and for this reason we will try to help them, "said Bahtiri.

According to President Bahtiri, a crucial role for the sport does not only play the practice of the games within Kosovo, but also their internationalization.

“Sport is extremely important for a society. Not just basketball but all sports should be developed, because they represent our community in other countries, because only in this way can sport be strongly developed, "said Bahtiri.
