The newly elected President of FIBA, Mr. Horacio Muratore promised to deal himself with the issue of Kosovo Basketball and its internationalization.
In what was described as a very nice but informal meeting, president of KBF, Mr. Erolld Belegu informend Mr. Muratore on the latest development of basketball and sport in general in Kosovo, recent advances that were made in terms of sport internalization, including the acceptance of Kosovo Handball Federation to European Federation.
FIBA President, Mr. Muratore was very pleased to meet executives of KBF and that he was able to get the first hand information on Kosovo Basketball.
“It was a very constructive meeting even though it was informal. We will meet officially with Mr. Muratore during next year. However, his promise to personally commit to doing more in Kosovo case is very significant for us” stated the President of KBF, Mr. Belegu.
During the day, Mr. Belegu also met with FIBA Sports Director, Mr. Lubomir Kotleba who is responsible for KBF in FIBA.
KBF delegation is staying in Istanbul for FIBA World Championship for Women Turkey 2014, and they will have many more meetings with other FIBA Senior Executives during the upcoming days.
