  • Peja expects a positive start in the Balkan League
1 February 2016

This week, the three teams from Kosovo will continue with the second phase of the Balkan League.

On Tuesday, Peja will host Levski 2014 at the “Karagaci” hall, in Group D of the Balkan League. The game will begin at 19:30h. Meanwhile, Bashkimi from Prizren will compete in Group C and will host Teodo from Montenegro, at the “Sezai Surroi” hall, in Prizren, at 18:30h. The reigning champion of the Balkan League, Sigal Prishtina will play against Kozuv, in Group C, on Wednesday, at 18:00h, in Gevgelija, Macedonia.

Bashkimi are maximally mobilized in every aspect and the seven victories in a row undoubtedly motivate them even more for the upcoming challenges in this competition. With 22 victories in both leagues, Peja are becoming unbeatable. In the first phase of Group B of BIBL, they were the first team with 7 wins and 1 loss. The only team to defeat them was Bashkimi 82:73, in the beginning of the season. In the first phase of the Balkan League Peja defeated Levski 2014 twice.

Fisnik Rugova, basketball player of BC Peja: “We are very well prepared and we believe that we’ll win. We are on a stage where the games become more intense and more important. On Tuesday, we have to give our best and win before our fans. We have defeated Levski twice this season and we are familiar with their game. Recent games boosted our confidence. I believe that our advantage is that we are better than them individually. However, we will not underestimate them, not even for a second, and we will be focused from the beginning of the game until the end and leave with a victory”.
