Peja ready for the first semifinal game of the Balkan League

22 March 2017

BC Peja is hosting KK Kumanovo 2009 today in the semifinal game of the Balkan League.

Here is what the head coach of the team - Aleksandar Todorov had to say before the match:

"We are coming to this game with a lot of problems. I hope that I′ll be able to count on all players and to have some practice time for the game. Of course I′m also hoping to create advantage of around 10 points so we can go to Kumanovo more relaxed. Kumanovo is without its best player but a week ago defeated Kozuv which means that the strength of the team wasn′t only Danilo Mijatovic. There are a lot of good players in almost each position but the rotation is a bit shorter. As I said, I hope that we′ll be with our complete roster and to make some good advantage at home which will give a chance to Peja to reach its first ever final in the Balkan League."

On the other hand, the coach of Kumanovo 20019, Marjan Srbinoski said:

"We are expecting a tough game. We played recently so the two teams know each other well and there are no secrets. Peja is a quality team but we′ll go to try and take the maximum. After Mijatovic left we have some problems with the rotation but I expect us to give the maximum to take a positive result. When your best player leaves, the team needs time to adjust. We didn′t have the possibility to take other player and our team was weakened a lot. However we are not going to surrender. We are going to try and give our best and we′ll see what happens. We′ll be satisfied even with a defeat by a small margin before the return leg in Kumanovo but of course we are going out for the win in that game."
