Peja won the round XXV derby after defeating Sigal Prishtina 94:80 (20:16, 24:19, 21:26, 29:19), on Sunday at the “Karagaci” hall, in Peja. Peja put an end to Prishtina’s series of victories and after 23 victories in every competition Peja finally introduced Prishtina to losing.
In fact, this was the first loss for Sigal Prishtina’s coach, Antonis Constantinides.
Peja started better and won the first half 20:16. In the second half Peja was leading by 5 points, whereas the third quarter ended 21:26 in Prishtina’s favor. In the last quarter, Peja increased their lead and won the game by 14 points.
The most efficient player for Peja was Fisnik Rugova who had 27 points, 15 rebounds and 3 assists, Alban Veseli added 19 and Kevin Borwell and Ronald Davis had 16 each. Mohamed Abukar was the top scorer for Sigal Prishtina with 16 points and Dardan Berisha added 14.
Peja is the leader of the Superleague with 43 points, leaving Sigal Prishtina behind with 38 points and one less game. The record of these two teams in every competition is 4:4, whereas Peja defeated Prishtina 3 times in the Superleague, and lost only once.
