Peja lost for the second time in four games of the Balkan League. This was Peja’s second game to be decided in overtime.
Peja was a guest in the game with Rilski, the undefeated team of Group A and Peja made a 10:0 run in the first quarter and had a double digit lead which made them look very comfortable.
Even though a few minutes later Rilski cut the deficit to just 4, Gerti Shima scored from a great distance in the final seconds of the second quarter and Peja ended the first half of the game with 6 points lead (39:45).
However, the team from Peja, similar to other games this season, had big problems at the final stage of the game.
Rilski after scoring 3 three-pointers in a row, managed to get separated in the result for the first time in the fourth quarter.
However, Samir Shaptahovic wasn′t giving up and scored 8 straight points (38 points in total) in the final minutes of the game and he managed to tie the score.
During the five minutes of the overtime, Peja was down by 18 points, which is a great example of the players focus and their defense game.
In the end, Rilski won 105:97.
The other team from Kosovo competing in the Balkan League, Sigal Prishtina, is the guest of Kozuv in Gevgelija. Sigal Prishtina and Kozuv are the only two undefeated teams in Group B and with the eventual victory Sigal Prishtina will confirm its first position in the group.
The reigning champion of Kosovo, Sigal Prishtina has 7 wins out of 7 games in the ETC Super League and after they defeated Kastrioti during the weekend, they are believed to be on top of the game.
During the weekend, Kozuv also won in their game against Vodnjanski Lisici in Macedonian First League.
However, in the National League, Kozuv has two wins and two losses.
