The U14 International Tournament that took place in Skopje has ended. Participants in this tournament were Macedonia, Kosovo, Bulgaria and Romania.
Kosovo U14 played three games and lost. In the first game Kosovo was defeated by the host, Macedonia 95:49, in the second day Kosovo was defeated by Bulgaria 76:44 and in the last day Romania defeated Kosovo 64:49.
These were the first games that the U14 team from Kosovo played together, and the next activity for this group-age will be the participation in the tournament that will take place in Romania, in April.
It should be noted that Kosovo together with the three above-mentioned countries are part of the FIBA Europe Youth Development Fund project led by the Turkish Basketball Federation. In the program of this project that began in June last year and will end in June 2018 are national camps, international camps, tournaments, coaches and teams visits to Turkey.
In addition to socialization of children and coaches of the four countries, the goal of this project is also their education and exchange of experiences among each other, the creation of basketball players and also national teams, who after two years of work will represent their countries in the European Championships for the U16 category.
Meanwhile, the tournament in Skopje was a welcoming experience for Kosovo, where we were able to see the strength and capacity of our boys, and in the future we will focus on correcting our mistakes, so that we can play against the countries whose level of basketball among young generation is stronger than ours.
