After the Balkan League published in their official website that the Sports Director of Sigal Uniqa Balkan League, Shay Shtriks together with the President of the Kosovo Basketball Federation, Erolld Belegu and the competition commissioner decided that the game Trepca – Peja has to be stopped and cannot continue, Belegu responded that that’s not what happened, because according to him only the referee can take such decision. He added that he was part of the discussions with all parties, but he never interfered with the decision.
Afterwards, BIBL reacted, by correcting their announcement:
“After the Sports Director of SIGAL UNIQA Balkan League Mr. Shay Shtriks consulted the commissioner and the crew chief, he took decision that the game has to be stopped and cannot continue and informed the president of Kosovo Basketball Federation, Mr. Erolld Belegu about it. All that means that a 20-0 win for Peja is awarded and in the same time no points for Trepca. BIBL will take further actions and decision according to the regulations after receiving the official report by the commissioner.”
