Dear basketball community in Kosovo,
Dear citizens,
The Basketball Federation of Kosovo (BFK) is observing all developments related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Like almost all other activities in our society, and across the globe, our sport has been heavily influenced as well by the COVID-19 pandemic.
However, we must adapt to the new reality created around the world and at the same time, we must follow carefully all the advice of the authorities in our country to win this battle together.
The Basketball Federation of Kosovo is in constant contact with its members, with the basketball players of the national team, as well as with other interest groups of the KBF.
Also, KBF is in constant contact with FIBA, while the executive office staff is working from their homes on preparations for the FIBA U16 European Championship, Division C.
We are also observing actions of other federations in terms of competitions and the KBF Board will decide in the upcoming days the fate of the competitions organized under its umbrella. We will make this decision in March and in coordination with the authorities of our Republic.
The message of the Basketball Federation of Kosovo is clear: the welfare of the general population and the basketball community in particular is and will remain our priority during this difficult period. Some say that sport is the second most important thing in life. Even those of us who have had the sport first and foremost in our lives, at this point, have to agree with this statement because it is clear that health and well-being are paramount.
Basketball matches will be back soon, more powerful than ever before!
In the meantime, please accept my wishes and the Kosovo Basketball Federation's wishes for good health and to overcome this situation as soon as possible.
Yours,
Arben FETAHU
President
