New season of the Balkan League will begin with the match between Bashkimi and Peja, which will take place on Tuesday, at the “Sezai Surroi” hall, at 19:00h.
Bashkimi is making its debut in this league, whereas for Peja this is their third year to compete in this league and last season they made it to the semifinals.
These two teams have already played against each other in the new season of the Kosovo Superleague, where Peja has defeated Bashkimi at the “Sezai Surroi” hall, in Prizren.
The coaches of both teams said that they’ve already forgot the first game and are only thinking about the tomorrow’s duel, where they aim to show good game and please the basketball fans.
Petar Mijovic, Head coach of BC Bashkimi: “Peja has a very strong team and that was proven in the game that we played in the Kosovo Superleague. Peja has great local players, Alban Veseli and Drilon Hajrizi in particular, but also their international players are really good. This year, Peja has a very strong and well composed team. However, we are maximally prepared for tomorrow’s duel. We analyzed the game which we lost to them, we analyzed our strongest and weakest points, and for us there is nothing left to do but go and give our best in the game. I hope that with the maximal support from our fans, there could be a big surprise in the gym”.
Branimir Pavic, coach of BC Peja: “Every game is important to us, regardless of the league. It is true that we defeated Bashkimi a few days ago, but it wasn’t easy, because we have started good but afterwards when we were supposed to continue with the same rhythm, we struggled and even though we won, the result wasn’t what we expected it to be. For that reason, I think that the chances to win tomorrow are 50-50. But we will give our best to leave with a victory, even though it won’t be easy.
It should be noted that present at the opening match of the 2015/16 season of the Balkan League (BIBL) will be high officials of this league, accompanied by the officials of the Kosovo Basketball Federation (KBF).
