On Wednesday, at 20:30h Sigal Prishtina and Peja will play their second games in FIBA Europe Cup.
Both teams stated that they are aware that it will be very difficult to play against their opponents, but they are hoping that with the help of their fans they will win these games.
Sigal Prishtina will host Rilski Sportist from Bulgaria at the Youth and Sports Center in Prishtina. This game belongs to Group H of FIBA Europe Cup, where are also competing Demir Insaat from Turkey and Enisey from Russia.
On the other hand, Peja will host AEK Larnaca from Cyprus in "Karagaçi" hall, in Peja. This game belongs to Group G of FIBA Europe Cup, where are also competing Cluj from Romania and Gaziantep from Turkey.
In the first game of this season, Sigal Prishtina lost to Demir Insaat 100:58, in Istanbul. After this loss, Sigal Prishtina made some changes in the team, first in their technical staff and then in their players roster. Petar Mijoviq resigned as head coach and the new players that were added to Prishtina’s roster are Marcel Jones and Luis Darby Jr.
The new coach of Sigal Prishtina Jeronimo Sharin from Croatia stated:
“I'm the new coach of Prishtina and we also have two new players that need time to adapt. We have only four practices together and then we will see how our team stands against Rilski Sportist, which is a strong team. We have a very difficult match ahead of us and this challenge came too early, but there is nothing we can do. We have to do our best and not give up until the end. Regardless of the outcome, we will continue our journey game after game. We still have the same goals and we hope that we’ll please our spectators in the game against Rilski.”
Meanwhile, Peja played good in their debut game in FIBA Europe Cup against Cluj, where Peja lost 85:76.
Now, in round two of FIBA Europe Cup, Peja will host AEK Larnaca from Cyprus, a very strong opponent according to the coach of Peja, Aleksandar Todorov:
“If we play like we did against Cluj and with the help of our fans, we can surprise AEK, which is a very experienced team with two NBA players. We have to play good and have the support of our fans.”
