Today, FIBA officially informed the Kosovo Basketball Federation (KBF) with the updates regarding the FIBA Europe Club Competition 2015/16.
56 clubs will participate in FIBA Europe Club Competition 2015/2016.
The 56 clubs have been divided into 2 conferences which to the maximum extent possible are based on geographical proximity but also depend on the number of the clubs registered per country.
The seeding has been prepared on the basis of the clubs’ participation and results in European Club Competitions in the past years as well as the clubs’ ranking in the domestic league the past season.
The only team from Kosovo to compete in this league, Sigal Prishtina is part of Conference 2.
The games of the competition are played on Wednesday or Tuesday. The exact dates of the games for the Regular Season will be established on Tuesday (04.08.2015), at the draw, in Munich, Germany.
The 56 clubs will be divided by draw into 14 groups (A to N) of 4 clubs.
Each club will play the other clubs in its own group in home and away games (6 games for each club).
In the other phase of the competition, 32 clubs will be divided into 8 groups of 4 clubs each. Each club will play the other clubs in its own group in home and away games (6 games for each club).
The two (2) best-placed clubs (16 clubs) in each group will qualify for the Last 16 Play-Offs. The winners of the Last 16 Play-Offs will qualify for the Quarter-Finals.
The winners of the Quarter-Final Play-Offs will qualify for the Final Four. The losers will play for the 3rd place. The games of the Final Four will be played on Friday and Sunday.
