Astana (Kazakhstan), Sigal Prishtina (Kosovo) and AEK Larnaca (Cyprus), have 2 wins and 3 losses in Group K of the FIBA Europe Cup and on Tuesday and Wednesday the three teams will give their best to qualify for the second phase of FIBA Europe Cup.  Energia Targu – Jiu is the only team from this group with 4 wins and 1 loss. Astana will qualify if they beat Energia and Prishtina beats AEK. Prishtina qualifies if they defeat AEK, and Astana loses to Energia. In the event AEK wins, this team qualifies directly, regardless of Astana’s result.

On Tuesday, Sigal Prishtina will host AEK Larnaca at the Youth and Sports Center, in Prishtina, at 19:00h.

Marjan Ilievksi, Head coach of BC Sigal Prishtina: “This is the last game in the group and nobody expected that precisely this duel will decide which of the three teams will qualify in the second phase, except for Energia who already secured their place. We have a chance to qualify and that is very important to us. We have to give our best in the game against AEK and get the best result that we can. We have big problems with injuries. This is a very hard competition and as far as I know we are the only team to compete in three different competitions. Our match will last 2 days, since after our game against AEK, Astana and Energia will play and we won’t be able to relax until that game ends. AEK is a very serious team with quality players and I have to mention Brezec in particular, who adds quality and experience to the team. In the first duel in Cyprus, AEK proved to be good with three-pointers.  I cannot predict what will happen in the next game, between Astana-Energia that will take place the next day. That day, we will be cheering for Energia.”

Edmond Azemi, captain of BC Sigal Prishtina: “The atmosphere in the club is really good. We believe in victory, since everything depends on this match. Chances are that we qualify and give everything for victory. I invite all of our fans, especially “Plisa”, to support us in this crucial game. I believe that we can make it and please our fans with the third home victory in FIBA Europe Cup.”
