Sigal Prishtina made all the preparations needed for tomorrow’s meeting with Astana from Kazakhstan. This was announced on Tuesday, by the Director General of Sigal Prishtina, Florian Miftari, during a press conference. This is the second round game of Group K of the FIBA Europe Cup and will take place on Wednesday, at 19:00h, at the Youth and Sports Center, in Prishtina.

In the first round of Group K, Astana has defeated Petrolina AEK Larnaca from Cyprus 78:74, while Prishtina lost to Energia from Romania 87:72.

The champion of Kosovo and the Balkan League represents our country for the first time in a European competition. Sigal Prishtina promises to give their best in this game. “The team from Pristina is on the verge of a historic day because we will host our first game in FIBA Euro Cup. The game against Astana is very important, but I believe that we are prepared to face the team from Kazakhstan”, stated Miftari. “However, I believe that we will give our best in court. The team is very well prepared, considering that we did not overcome successfully our previous challenge, because of many factors. I believe that it was a very long and tiring trip to Romania, since we were not able to go through Serbia, and it was also our first game. However, there are no excuses to lose our home game, since our goal as a team is to pass this group. We are well aware that our opponent is eager to win this game, has a budget of 5 million euros, has a team composed of well known players and is a ten time champion of Kazakhstan. However, we will not give up easily considering the support we have from our fans, especially the choreography being prepared by “Plisa”. They are our sixth player and will help us achieve a great success, like the one in the Balkan League” said Miftari.

Prishtina competes in Group K of FIBA Europe Cup, with Energia Targu-Jiu (Romania), Astana (Kazakhstan), and Petrolina AEK Larnaca (Cyprus).

This is the inaugural edition of the FIBA Europe Cup, where 56 clubs, divided into two conferences and 14 groups, will compete.
