KB Sigal Prishtina recorded a very important win in its first game of Group D in BIBL. The champions defeated KK Kozuv away 87-75 despite being down by 18 in the first half.After the break the visitors showed different performance, played great defense and completed a comeback win.Next week Sigal will host Levski 2014 while Kozuv will visit Peja.
It was an even game in the first six minutes but then 5 quick points for Kozuv gave them a lead of 6. The hosts not only held on to it until the end of the quarter but even increased it to 9. Kozuv continued to play better in the second quarter and shortly after it started they had a double digit advantage. The first 20 minutes of the game ended with the result 44:29.
Sigal Prishtina started the second half in a great fashion and with 13-2 run cut the deficit to only 4 points in less than five miuntes. . The hosts managed to answer with two free throws but Sigal were on a roll and soon after that the score was tied. Kozuv tried not to allow the visitors to take the lead and scored but Abukar netted two straight triples to give Sigal a 1-point advantage. Kozuv cut it to 6 but then Sigal answered with 8-0 run and decided the game with 5 minutes to go.
Dardan Berisha and Mohamed Abukar were the top scorers for the winners with 20 points apiece. Jason Washburn added 16 and 16 rebounds. For the home team Ryan White had 21 points as Vladimir Brckov added 13 and 6 rebounds.
