Sigal Prishtina will make its debut in FIBA Europe Cup on Tuesday. BC Energia will host BC Sigal Prishtina, in Targu Jiu, Romania, at 19:00hrs.
“Sigal Prishtina will have the historical honour of becoming the first club to represent Kosovo, the youngest European country, in a European competition. Prishtina count on a backcourt which includes well-known around Europe veteran American guard Khalid El-Amin, Bulgarian international Stanimir Marinov and sharp-shooting winger David Berisha” stated in the official page of FIBA Europe Cup. On the other hand, the official website of the competition also wrote about SIgal Prishtina’s opponent: “Energia Targu-Jiu are a role model for any club that dreams of a meteoric surge as within two years they rose from obscurity to winning the Romanian Cup title to earning third place on the EuroChallenge 2015 podium. The Romanian team underwent changes in the summer, especially in the frontcourt, and are off to a lukewarm start in the Romanian LNB. But the coach responsible for their emergence, Antonis Constantinides, as well as the influential American duo of Porter Troupe and Lamont Mack have stayed on and know their way to a Final Four.”
It should be noted that this is the inaugural edition of the FIBA Europe Cup, where 56 clubs, divided into two conferences and 14 groups, will compete.
