Kosovo Super Cup set to be held on September 28th between Sigal Prishtina and Peja has been postponed indefinitely.
Such decision was taken by the Board of the Kosovo Basketball Federation after receiving a request to postpone the game from both clubs, on the grounds that they want to better prepare for FIBA Europe Cup, Balkan League and local competitions.
“The Board of KBF has voted to postpone indefinitely the Supercup of Kosovo, after such request has been made by Sigal Prishtina and Peja. Given the busy itinerary that the two clubs will have in the upcoming months and the great burden of competing in three different competitions, the Board voted to hold the Super Cup on another date, for which the public and the clubs will be informed in time, "said Leart Hoxha, Secretary General of KBF.
It should be noted that last season the winner of the Super Cup of Kosovo was Peja, while Prishtina is the reigning champion and winner of the Cup of Kosovo and the Balkan League.
Last season Sigal Prishtina made their debut in FIBA Europe Cup, while this season Peja will compete as well. Meanwhile, 4 teams from Kosovo will participate in the Balkan League, so in addition to the abovementioned clubs also Bashkimi from Prizren and Trepca from Mitrovica will compete in the Balkan League.
