The inauguration of the "Minatori" sports hall, in Mitrovica is expected to take place very soon and finally the modern arena will be at the disposal of all the athletes and fans from Mitrovica. The works at this gym have started three and a half years ago. After numerous problems, the clubs from Mitrovica can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel, since most of their problems were related to the lack of the sports hall. These teams have practiced in very difficult conditions and played their home games in different cities of Kosovo. In the absence of the gym, they also faced financial problems and Mitrovica fans have not been able to create a fiery atmosphere.

June 3, 2012 was the date when Trepca played their last game at the"Minatori" hall, against Sigal Prishtina in the playoff finals, and March 12, 2016 will be the date when the team from Mitrovica will return after nearly 4 years in their renovated hall and will play against Sigal Pristina, but this time in round XXIII of the Kosovo Superleague.

Basketball player from BC Trepca Arian Tahiri is very happy that the athletes are finally returning to the gym, especially the basketball players who are the pride of the town. In 2012, Trepca was the champion of Kosovo and also the winner of Kosovo Cup, but after the renovation at the hall began the success lacked.

“I’m impatiently looking forward to seeing the gym full. Next week, not only Torcida fans will be at the gym but also a big number of sports fans considering the fact that we have been waiting a long time for this moment. I believe that this day will be a basketball feast in Mitrovica and the fact that old rivals will play that day, everything will be even more interesting and there will be a fiery atmosphere. It’s the moment for us to starts focusing on the trophy because Mitrovica deserves it.”

It should be noted that the renovation of the "Minatori" hall has been a donation of the European Commission and the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
