Today (20.04.2015) was held the 11th meeting of the Secretaries General of FIBA Europe.
Secretary General of Kosovo Basketball Federation, Leart Hoxha, also attended the meeting. "In the first part of the meeting was presented the new organizational structure of FIBA and the conditions for qualification for the World and Europe Championships in 3x3. Whereas, in the second half of the meeting, the qualifications system for the European and World championships from 2017 onwards was discussed, which was also the main topic of this meeting.
We were informed on FIBA’s efforts for changing the system of club competitions in Europe. We were also informed about the modern practices of health insurance for basketball players who play in the National Team and also the NT of Kosovo, starting from this year, will have health insurance" stated Mr. Hoxha from Munich. In addition to this meeting, Hoxha also met with Secretary General of the Basketball Federation of Slovenia, former NBA star, Radoslav Nesterovic. Hoxha also attended the official dinner, organized by the director of FIBA Europe, Kamil Novak, where he developed other informal meetings with his homologues who were participating in the event.
It must be emphasized that this was the first official meeting of Kosovo in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), since its affiliation to FIBA, on March 13th 2015. After this meeting, follows the one of the President of KBF, Erolld Belegu and board member, Arben Fetahu, at the General Assembly of FIBA Europe, to be held on 16 and 17 May, in Malta.
