The next meeting of the Kosovo Basketball Federation took place in Istanbul honored by Turgay Demirel the President of the Turkish Federation and Emir Turan International Relations Director.
KBF’s President, Erolld Belegu, and the Board Member responsible for the development of the new generations Valton Bilalli, notified the Turkish Federation about the new developments in Kosovo basketball, and the process of internationalization.
Also throughout the meeting, both Federations exchanged different experiences always with the aim of finding a way to attain success suggesting the development of Basketball in each country.
Turkish Federation offered its support towards our Federation by offering new equipment to help the young generation. As a consequence of the discussions, two Federations came into a conclusion that the best way to develop basketball is by focusing mostly in working with young people.
Turks agreed to invite our representatives to attend matches and tournaments there, as well as to invite referees and coaches in FIBA’s seminars which will take place in Turkey.
KBF was also introduced to several successful projects that are implemented by the Turkish Federation, which are in the future expected to be applied in Kosovo.
Turkish Federation’s President, Demirel, is expected to be chosen as the most serious candidate of FIBA Europe in elections to be held in May.
