Clinic for National Referees to begin on Friday

  • Clinic for National Referees to begin on Friday
18 February 2016

In co-operation with FIBA Europe, Kosovo Basketball Federation will organize a camp for Potential National Referees, which will last for three days (18-22 February).

Davorin Nakic, Head of the Referee Department in FIBA Europe and Gjorgji Piperkov, FIBA Instructor, will lecture at the clinic.

The potential national referees of KBF to participate at the clinic are: Daut Mehmeti, Xhelal Mumini, Elion Obertinca, Dardan Maxhuni, Blendi Fejza, Ngadhnjim Shabani, 2 candidates from Albania, 1 from Macedonia, and our national instructor, Faton Kurshumlija.

The clinic is divided in 3 parts: theory, tests and practice.

The lectures will take place at the Emerald hotel, in Prishtina, whereas the test and the practice will take place at the Youth and Sports Hall and ISP College in Marigona Residence.

Leart Hoxha, Secretary General of KBF: “It's good that our referees can finally prove themselves before FIBA instructors, since two generations of referees did not have the luck to officiate in international games due to our political situation. We believe that our best referees are qualified enough to officiate in Balkan League and other international games. Those that prove to be successful in this clinic can obtain a FIBA license next year and this is the biggest step for this segment of basketball in recent years.”
