Youth Summer Camp "Prishtina 2014" Tournament

There are only two days left until the conclusion of the Youth Summer Camp "Prishtina 2014", where the participants of this activity are working with an emphasized pace and a great will. The camp is led by FIBA Instructor, a well known Slovenian coach, Dejan Mihevc, and also 9 local coaches are involved in working with groups: Fikret Shatri, Pal Syla, Ilir Selmani, Fidan Shatri, Arianit Morina, Vigan Bytyqi, Valbona Bytyqi, Arbnore Perquku and Hekuran Husaj.

A basketball tournament was held in the camp on Tuesday and Thursday, where Instructor Mihevc together with the coordinator Elvira Dushku, have created 8 teams and divided them into 2 mixed groups (boys and girls), who competed with each other and at the end the final was held, where the team "Cibona", led by coach Fidan Shatri triumphed.

It should be emphasized that during these two days, each team has played six games, where in addition to the final, they also played games for the third, fifth and seventh place. The purpose of this tournament was for children to play as many matches in order to practice the exercises which they have learned during the past few days. This tournament has proven to be very positive, as children came out very happy with basketball matches.

In addition to training, which is in the program twice a day, there was also organized an education for 'Fair Play', which was led by the educators of the Independent Organization of Sport Education in Kosovo (OESK) and where various of games were held during the free time.

"All-Star" match for the Youth Summer Camp "Prishtina 2014" will be held on Saturday, starting at 9:30, and during the breaks there are going to be organized many skill challenges, hot shoot, free throws etc. There is also going to be the announcement of the player who showed most progress during the camp, model player (which was distinguished in the field), and the most distinguished player. The organizers of the camp are going to reward them with modest prizes.

It should be emphasized that the organization of the camp is powered by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS), and it is supported by the Independent Organization of Sport Education in Kosovo (OESK), as well as by the water company "Bonita" and sports company "Sporting”.

The camp began on July 12th and it will end on July 19th. The camp is being held in the Student Center in Prishtina, while drills are being performed in the premises of this Center, "1 Tetori" Hall and also at the sports hall of the Faculty of Sport Sciences.
