Ukraine triumphed against Kosovo 100:61 (30:11, 25:17, 26: 8, 19:25) in the fifth game of Eurobasket 2017 Qualifiers, which took place today in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Kosovo had a difficult time playing against Ukraine, while the opponent scored almost from every position.
From the beginning of the game the Ukrainians were the ones who dominated and managed to instantly create a lead which they gradually increased it. Ukraine won the game and with that victory they secured a place in the European Championship. This weekend Ukraine will fight for the first place with Slovenia, in the game that will take place in Ljubljana.
Justin Doellman was the top scorer from the Kosovo NT with 13 points, while Ukraine’s top scorer was Viascheslav Kravtsov with 16 points and 12 rebounds.
This was Kosovo’s fifth defeat from five games played, and now our National Team will play their last game on Saturday against Bulgaria, at the “Minatori” hall, in Mitrovica, at 20:00h.
It should be noted that this is the first time that Kosovo is competing at such level of competition. This experience will definitely serve to our basketball players, coaches and federation to build a team that in the near future will be able to face big names in the European level as well as in the world.
