Two games, which were decided in the last action with only one point difference ended with two victories of the favorites, one in a derby and the other one in an easier match of the first cycle. This could be the description of the fifth round of the ETC Super League of Kosovo basketball.
At the derby Sigal Prishtina defeated Trepca as it was already expected. Kosovo’s actual champion, once again led by Dardan Berisha, created a lead in the first round and had control of the game during the whole time. Sigal Prishtina won 93:70.
Vellaznimi, after being eliminated from the Cup, wanted to win in the match against Kosova e Re Bashkimi, held in Gjakova. However, the team from Gjakova started slow and after 20 minutes the visitors led by 15 points. Supported by more than 1000 fans and having nothing to lose Vellaznimi took a risk and returned to the game and tied the result at the last minute of the game.
In the last action, Vellaznimi had two free throws, of which Dino Hodzic only scored the second one, meanwhile 1.7 seconds before the end of the game, Kosova e Re Bashkimi managed to organize action and after Marojevic scored they won 80:79.
A match, which was expected to be strong, but not so dramatic, was the duel between Besa and Golden Eagle Ylli.
While in the first half, the teams had large oscillations in the game (18:26 first quarter and 25:14 the second one), in the second half the visitors were a lot more stable and in the fourth quarter they were almost constantly in the lead.
The hosts managed to tie the score twice but they could never get in the lead. The game ended 83:85. Manny Richardson had two free throws and the opportunity to tie the score. He scored only once and Golden Eagle Ylli won its second game of the season, while Besa remains one of the two teams to have 5 losses out of 5 games.
Peja was the team with the easiest work this round since they are about to face Kastrioti, a team that awaits the midweek duel with Besa, to see which of the teams is going to score their first win of the season.
Peja ended the first half 60:37 securing a victory and commodity for the second half. At the end, the runner up for the title of Kosovo Champion won 100:81.
