4 Dhjetor 2017

The Kosovo Basketball Federation (KBF) has won the right to organize the U18 European Championship, Division C (Men). The championship will be held from 22 to 29 July 2018.

This decision was taken by the FIBA Europe Board at the meeting held in Munich the last weekend we left behind.

For KBF, but also for Kosovo itself and Kosovo's sport in general, this is a great achievement.

FIBA is now expected to send an inspection visit to its officials early next year to hold meetings with KBFofficials about preparations for the organization of the Championship.

Elvira Dushku, Secretary General of KBF has said that the fact that FIBA has trusted KBF the organization of an event such as the U-18 Championship, Division C (Men) is a great push for the Federation to work even more in the development of new generations, which it has done in the last four years.

Elvira Dushku, Secretary General, KBF:

"For years now, KBF is part of several projects for new generations of FIBA and in all of these projects we have shown to be organized in every aspect but at the same time we have shown great dedication to work with young generations. This has been one of the reasons that FIBA has trusted KBF the organization of such an event as the European Championship.

We also should not be forget the lobbying made by the President of KBF, Erolld Belegu to FIBA officials, as his serious work at the KBF Board has been a major reason for FIBA to trust us with this organization.

We are very excited that next year we will bring Kosovos Basketball fans a European Championship in Kosovo and at the same time we promise we will work on everything in the organization to go the best way possible.

After the Kosovo Representative, which this summer has been among the 32 European nationals in qualifications for the 2019 World Cup, this is another great achievement for basketball, but also for Kosovo's sport in general. "
