On 13th and 14th of February in Prishtina was FIBA official Radmila Turner, who holds the position of Head of National Federations and Head of Sports, Youth and Antidoping at FIBA Europe.
The purpose of her visit was the start of preparations for the European Championship U18, Division C that it’s going to be held in Pristina from 22 to 29 July 2018.
Turner on this occasion held meetings with the leader of the Local Organizing Committee of the Championship, KBF Secretary General, Elvira Dushku, and with staff members of KBF, and then conducted the inspection of sports gyms in Prishtina ("1st October" and the “Palace of Youth and Sports” in Prishtina), hotels where FIBA officials are expected to accommodate, as well as the Dormitory where the participating teams of this Championship are expected to be accommodated.
After two days of intense work, Turner has given the consent that the Championship can be organized under the conditions offered by the KBF, with the exception of the "1 October" gym where she has asked for some urgent interventions so that teams can practice in the best conditions.
Returning to Munich, Turner will make a report about her visit to Pristina and then KBF can officially start working on the organization of the European Championship U18, Division C.
Participants of the European Championship U18, Division C are:
Group A: Moldova, Armenia, Ireland, Malta, Monaco.
Group B: Cyprus, San Marino, Kosovo Gibraltar.
It should be noted that Kamil Novak, FIBA Europe's General Secretary, is expected to make an appearance during the championship in Pristina.
